MEET BLIZZARD!!!
We recently took in this sweet girl and her two puppies. They were living outside in a pen with a large snowstorm coming in. Thankfully we were able to get them all here and they are so grateful for indoor life. (Her puppies Snowflake and Icicle are posted separately)
Blizzard is approx 2 years old female. She appears to be a Hound Pyrenees mix. She weighs 74 pounds.
She will be given several sets of vaccines, dewormed, a microchip and spayed. She is sadly heartworm positive but her treatment is included in her adoption.
Blizzard initially had no idea how to be inside but she’s learned so quickly. She’s really doing well and has exceeded our expectations.
She is not fully potty trained but has already started going to the door to alert she needs to go out. She is good with crate training but isn’t the biggest fan of it. She can be vocal in protest. She was nervous on her car ride but didn’t do to bad. She doing really well with her leash training so far.
Blizzard is fine with other dogs but mostly ignores them. She’s good with it without another dog in the home. We don’t know how she would do with cats. She’s been good with all the kids she’s met so far.
She so far has a lower energy level but that will likely increase as she becomes more settled and confident with indoor life. So far she doesn’t seem to understand toys. She gathers sticks to chew on instead. She was probably never provided with toys before.
Blizzard will jump a short fence. She will either need a 6ft fence or have someone dedicated to exercising and potting on leash. Having a safe place for her to run would be ideal. She has not had any trouble sharing food, treats and toys with humans or other dogs.
This sweet and beautiful girl hasn’t had a real life so far but she’s ready to have that now. If you’re willing to put a little more work and training into her she’s going to be an amazing dog for you.
Vet and home checks required.
Can jump short fences.
Located in Hampton VA.
(She will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius)
