Cersei

MEET CERSEI!!!

We took in this super sweet girl and two others (posted separately) when they ended up in the shelter. They were in really bad shape. Their owner had dementia and lost the ability to keep up with their care. Since arriving they have been doing so much better and are ready to start looking for their forever homes. They are such good dogs and deserve the best future.

They were all horribly matted with nails that were almost two inches long. They smelled so bad. We had them groomed thanks to Fluff and Buff grooming who fit them in quickly so they could be comfortable again. They also saw the vet and got updated. They’ve been so sweet and loving despite all they have gone through.

Cersei is a female Yorkie. She weighs 9 pounds and is full grown. As for her age it’s a guess at best. Her owner said they were all 11 months old and we know that’s way off. We are estimating she is 6 years old but we just don’t know.

She will be spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines as part of her adoption. She is heartworm negative. She will need her adopter to get her a dental done in the near future once she’s made it through her spay and has time to recover.

Cersei did have what we think was a seizure when we first brought her home from the shelter. It was very quick and mild if so and she has not had another since. The vet said it could have been stress induced and medication is typically not required unless a dog has more than one a month. We aren’t sure if this will be an issue for her in the future or not but want her adopter to be prepared just in case.

This tiny girl is such a love bug. Very easy going and a great lap companion. She is nervous at first but glued to you once she sees it’s safe. Doesn’t take long at all. She loves to cuddle and relax. She has no concept of personal space and will be on you at any opportunity she can get.

Cersei has been fine with all other dogs. She is good with both big and small dogs. She’s also fine as the only dog. She doesn’t really engage with them much but will trot around with them and coexist well. We aren’t sure how she would do with cats but likely fine. She isn’t fostered in a home with kids but we think she would do well with respectful children. She met an older kid and did great. Kids should be old enough to understand not to treat her like a toy.

She rides great in the car and is good with her crate training. She is not a fan of leash walking and is still a bit nervous about it. She is currently doing pretty good with her potty trained. She had several accidents while adjusting to her foster home but has been doing much better now. She has been a very quiet dog. She’s not been yappie at all.

Cersei has had no trouble sharing food, treats or toys with other dogs or humans. She has a fairly low energy level. She is mostly happy just to sit around with you. She does have little bursts of excited energy where she wants to play or run around. After that she is back to cuddling again. Her energy level may increase as she completely recovers from her UTI and settles in to her new home.

Overall she’s a very easy and low maintenance snuggle bug. she loves being with people and will climb all over you until she gets some rubs. She is a loving little pup who is always staring at you with her big sweet eyes. She will require some additional vetting for the dental but promises to repay you with loyalty and companionship.

Vet and home checks required.

Located in Hampton VA.
(She will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius)
