Meet Hope!!

Hope is a wonderful dog looking for a wonderful home!

Hope is a year old, female shepherd mix. She weighs approximately 45lbs.

We originally saved Hope and her puppies from being taken to a high kill shelter a few months ago, unfortunately due to Hope not being a good fit for her last home she is available again.

She is up to date on her shots and she is microchipped. She has her appointment to be spayed. She is also house trained.

Hope is extremely well behaved and easy to have in the home. She does well with both other dogs and cats. She is extremely loving, cuddly, and enjoys being her owners shadow. She is leash trained and rides well in the car. She is not destructive and can be left out in the home when you are gone.

Her ideal environment would be a calm and quiet family with a low amount of visitors. She bonds extremely closely to her family and is a protective dog. She does not do well with non family members coming and going. She doesn’t understand strangers being safe. She has nipped at a few people over this. If you have visitors over placing Hope in her crate or in a separate room is essential to avoid any issues with her trying to protect you.

Because of this issue she must go to a family without children. She lived with a small child and loved her so much, but kids have friends, and Hope doesn’t understand they aren’t threats.

Hope can be stubborn, despite her loving nature she will put the breaks on if it is something she does not want to do. She has made great progress with her foster and has come very far with training. She is crate trained but sometimes doesn’t want to go in her crate, once in her crate she is perfect. She knows how to sit and lie down, she also walks well on a leash.

This sweet girl has been bounced around far to much in her life. She would truly benefit from the stability of a forever family willing to see past her flaws and work with her.

Her loyalty to her family is unmatched. She gives all she has to give and has sadly lost those bonds several times now in her short life. 😞
