MEET LINCOLN!!!
We recently took in this sweet boy and his adorable siblings from a family that was unable to support feeding and caring for them anymore.
Lincoln is a happy-go-lucky dog who is playful, yet easy-going. He loves running around with other dogs, playing with toys, and sunbathing outside. Inside he transforms into a lap dog, always seeking out someone to snuggle up with.
He is approx 4.5 months old and male. He appears to be Pit-bull type mix (judging from mom’s photo) and should be medium size when full grown. His mom looked to be about 50 pounds and dad is unknown. He was 14 pounds at his last vet visit.
He came to us very skinny and full of worms. He is recovered and doing great now. (He was still skinny in some photos as they were taken throughout his time here.)
Lincoln has been vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and given a microchipped. He is on monthly preventatives.
He has been doing really well with crate training He will whine for a bit and then settle in. He has started leash training but due to his foster having surgery he has not had much practice with it. He does great on car rides. He has not had any trouble sharing food treats and toys with humans or other dogs. He loves to explore and play but is also sweet and cuddly. He is a fun, curious and happy puppy.
Lincoln loves other dogs and loves kids. He has not met any cats yet so we are unsure how he would do. All of his brothers that have met cats have done well with them.
He been doing really good with potty training but is still very young and has accidents. He has had limited accidents when crated and let out frequently. He’s not always great about telling you when he needs to go but does very well with a routine.
So far he has a medium energy level. He will need playtime and both mental and physical exercise every day but also has a very chill and cuddly side afterward. Puppies not given proper exercise can display destructive behaviors and have difficulty with training and manners. How they turn out is largely up to how much effort and time your family puts into them now. He has the potential to be wonderfully trained and well behaved dogs.
Overall Lincoln is not only adorable but also a very good puppy. He’s fun to have around and already has a good foundation of puppy training.
Vet and home checks required.
Located in Hampton VA.
(He will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius)
