MEET PEPPY!!!

➡️Yes it’s a frenchie but PLEASE READ HIS ENTIRE POST!! If it’s clear you didn’t read it we will know you’re not a serious adopter. ⬅️
This guy is so handsome and very friendly. We can’t believe he was left at the shelter by his owner. He’s got some training left to learn but overall he’s a really great dog.
Peppy is a 2 year old male French Bulldog. He weighs 17 pounds and is grown.
He will be neutered, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines. He is Heartworm negative and on monthly preventatives. He did great at the vet.
Things you should know and fully understand before applying:
Bulldogs are expensive. It’s just how it is. They can have health problems and various vet needs throughout their lives. This breed can cost way more than a regular breed to care for properly. If you can’t honestly say you’re willing to provide that then consider picking one of our other lower maintenance dogs. He deserves a home that can give him anything and everything he needs.
Due to his short nose, care needs to be taken that he doesn’t overheat. He can absolutely not be left outside alone. These dogs can easily die from heat or over exertion.
So far Peppy has been a loving and happy boy. He definitely has high energy and it does not appear he had much training prior to arriving here. He is learning but will need an owner that understands he is still very puppy like in his behaviors. He loves any and all attention.
He is great on car rides. He’s okay on the leash but kind of sporadic and not really great at it yet. He’s awesome meeting new people and loves everyone. Very very loving happy dog.
Peppy is crate trained and will sleep in the crate at night and during the work day. He will have occasional crate accidents if left for longer times. He is still not completely potty trained when out of the crate. He is starting to learn the routine though and we think he will fully figure it out soon. He’s already doing more outside than inside and just needs structure and routine.
He has done really well with Dogs of all sizes. However, he is a huge humper of any gender dog. His upcoming neuter will help with that but if you have another dog they may not like that much. He takes corrections from other dogs very well but he forgets fairly quickly and goes back to try again.
He is very playful and loves another doggie playmate to roughhouse with. He has never met cats so we do not know how he will do. We do not have him fostered with kids but his previous owner told the shelter he did good with them. He seems like he would be fine around kids aside from being a bit hyper.
Peppy currently has a high energy level. He loves to play with you or other dogs but he has a very low tolerance for the heat. He does well getting his energy out inside due to his compact size. He needs a family ready for an energetic and at times very hyper dog. He would rather play than snuggle but does have his snuggly moments when he is tired.
He has shown no aggression towards people. He has been fine sharing treats toys and food. His foster feeds all dogs separately so we are not sure how he would do with that.
This little guy is so fun. He’s a great size and has a great personality. We can’t believe someone would ever leave this awesome dog at a shelter. Someone is going to get very lucky bringing this sweet boy into their family.
If you’re experienced with bulldog breeds and are financially prepared for potential health issues then this awesome boy might be for you!!
