Meet Sonja!!

Sonja is here because her owner passed away and she needs to find a new home.

She is good with cats, big and Small dogs, gentle kids and even baby pigs.

Sonja is a longhair tan female Dachsund. She’s approx 12 years old. She’s very overweight at almost 11 pounds. We have been working on her diet and exercise to help with that. She’s very quiet and easy going. She loves to be with you but will go lay in her dog bed peacefully if left alone.

She doesn’t like leash walking, she prefers to be carried lol. Sonja uses Pee pads well.

She recently had surgery to remove a fatty tumor and get a dental done. She recovered from surgery as if nothing happened. She is completely healed and her tumor tested as completely benign. The vet does not expect it to grow back or cause any further issues.

She’s also recently had a blood panel done and is healthy for her age. She does have luxating patella. This makes her rear knee caps pop in and out. It’s a very common thing in Dachsunds. It’s not something the vet recommends fixing. They did say it would improve with weight loss. It does NOT prevent her from walking, jumping or doing small sets of stairs. She’s completely capable of doing all things a regular dog can do.

Sonja is up to date on shots and spayed. She also had a complete dental done recently.

She is a sweet cuddly girl. She’s perfect for a Senior or a working family. She’s fine left at home while you are gone. She’s very low key and easy to have around.
