MEET WASHINGTON!!!
We recently took in this sweet boy and his adorable siblings from a family that was unable to support feeding and caring for them anymore.
Washington is such a sweet, smart, and eager puppy. He is doing phenomenal with learning basic obedience and leash walking. He learned the sit command literally on his first day, like a pro! Washington wants nothing more than to show you he’s a good boy. He’s incredibly smart and will stare at you waiting for you to tell him something.
He is approx 4.5 months old and male. He appears to be Pit-bull type mix (judging from mom’s photo) and should be medium size when full grown. His mom looked to be about 50 pounds and dad is unknown. He was 16 pounds at his visit yesterday.
Washington came to us very skinny and full of worms. He is recovered and doing great now. (He was still skinny in some photos as they were taken throughout his time here.)
He will be vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and given a microchipped as part of his adoption. He is on monthly preventatives.
He has been doing really well with crate training. He also does well with his leash training and likes to go on walks. He does great on car rides. He has not had any trouble sharing food treats and toys with humans or other dogs. He loves to explore and play but is also sweet and cuddly. He is a fun, curious and happy puppy.
Washington loves other dogs and loves kids. He is fostered with cats and does fine with them. Sometimes he needs a reminder not to get too excited with them. He forgets they don’t play like dogs sometimes.
He been doing really good with potty training but is still young and has accidents. He has had limited accidents when crated and let out frequently. Once he gets the routine of the household down he does very well.
So far he has a medium energy level. He will need playtime and both mental and physical exercise every day but also has a very chill and cuddly side afterward. Puppies not given proper exercise can display destructive behaviors and have difficulty with training and manners. How they turn out is largely up to how much effort and time your family puts into them now. He has the potential to be wonderfully trained and well behaved dogs.
Overall Washington is not only adorable but also a very good puppy. He’s fun to have around and already has a good foundation of puppy training.
Vet and home checks required.
Located in Hampton VA.
(He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius)
