Abigail

Meet Abigail!

From life in a shed to a toddlers best friend, she’s an amazing dog who’s ready for her new life to begin!

Abigail is an 18 month old, female, Bassett Hound Mix. She weighs 29 pounds.

She’s super sweet and LOVES KIDS. She immediately took to the fosters toddler(19 month old). She sits and plays with him all day. She’s so patient and gentle with him. Her foster says she will roll around and play on the floor with him for hours!!

Abigail has been good with other dogs of all sizes. It’s unknown how she will do with cats.

She’s doggie door trained and potty trained(she can have accidents during cold or rainy weather as she doesn’t want to go out alone) She’s crate trained and is working on leash training. She is great on car rides.

Abigail has not shown any aggression and doesn’t mind other dogs or people around her food and toys.

She’s a playful puppy like dog. She can be excitable and still jumps up on people at times. She enjoys toys, balls, and bones of all kinds. She also likes watching the birds and squirrels through the patio door.

Abigail loves to sleep in bed with you but can also sleep in her crate overnight.

**She has the ability to jump a 4ft fence**

If you’re looking for a playful, fun, and pint size dog she’s your girl! Her love of toddlers and kids is also a huge bonus if you’re searching for a great family dog ❤️

Abigail will be spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped as part of her adoption.

Vet and home checks required.

Located in Yorktown VA.

  1. I’m very interested in meeting Abigail. What is the adoption process for people outside of Yorktown? I am located in Virginia Beach. I have 4 children, 13,6,4 & 9 months. We just moved into a new home with a huge (.5 acre) fenced in yard that we share with our two indoor outdoor cats, one female catahoula pit mix and a bunny. We are looking to add a new friend to the family 😊

    1. Hi, thank you so much for your interest in Abigail. I’ve forwarded your information to the person in charge of applications. You should be receiving an application right away.

        1. Hi! I show we sent an application and received a reply saying it had been received. Abigail has been adopted. However, her sister will be arriving on January 18th-
