***UPDATE, after one minor spat on day one Carly has been wonderful with the other dog she’s fostered with. She recently met yet another dog. She was afraid at first but as soon as the dog she’s living with came over she relaxed and played with the new dog. She is making great progress on all fronts!! *
Carly is a 9 month old, female, blue heeler. She weighs 30 pounds.
She’s already spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped.
Carly is potty trained and perfect in a crate. She’s not shown any food, toy or treat aggression. She doesn’t like to get in the car but is fine once she’s in.
She’s true to her breed and has to find an active family. She MUST be mentally and physically stimulated daily. She would be ideal at agility, running, hiking etc. Her new owner absolutely has to keep her mind and body busy!
Carly is a little bit afraid of cats but can live with them without any issues. Dog compatibly is a little tricky. She’s still very unsure of herself and will nip at other dogs out of fear. She is now living with another dog but it took a knowledgeable human and some corrective training to get her to that point. The more comfortable Carly gets in the home the better she is with the other dog. It would be best to have her as an only dog at least until she gets past her fears.
She is also a herding dog and will nip at kids to correct them or “herd” them. This is fairly common with this breed. She’s been rehomed for it once already and to prevent that happening again she needs to go to a home with teenagers or older.
Carly truly is a sweet dog. She clings to you. She’s still scared and needs a family that can show her life is okay. She comes out of her shell a lot when the ball comes out! She’s very intelligent and would easily learn all kinds of cool tricks if someone devoted some time to her.
She needs a special home and we are willing to keep her here as long as it takes to find that perfect family for her.
