This one was a hard one!
He’s looking for a breed savvy home or rescue.
Chubbs turned 1 in January, he’s full Shar pei and weighs approx 48 pounds.
He has been neutered and is up to date on shots. He will be microchipped prior to adoption.
Chubbs is potty trained and will alert you when he needs to go out. He is crate trained but will be stubborn about going in sometimes. He loves walks but still pulls on the leash.
He hasn’t been around cats and has shown some dominant behavior with other dogs. He has not been around many other dogs so this may change with socialization and training. He has not been aggressive toward other dogs.
Chubbs is still a puppy and has bursts of energy and needs someone to exercise him. He will also lay around on the couch and snuggle.
He hasn’t shown any food aggression. He will chew up things left out in the house.
Chubbs needs an owner with breed experience. He acts like a typical Shar pei or chow. He is very alpha in his home currently. He displays very protective behavior when new people come into the home. Once he’s comfortable with you he play bites and this could easily be mistaken for aggression in the wrong home.
I had him recently evaluated by a trainer and he recommends no children under 16 and only an experienced owner. We will follow that recommendation.
Chubbs needs the right owner that understands his breeds behaviors, and also has time to exercise and train him. He’s a lovely my dog to his family and loves to lay with you or play fetch.
