Meet Lucy!!

This absolutely adorable girl is ready for a family to love and protect!

Lucy is an 18 month old, female, Dachsund mix. She weighs 13 pounds.

She will go to her new home spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots.

Lucy had a very rough life prior to being rescued. Because of this she can be very weary of strangers. Once she knows you she is very sweet and extremely loyal. She particularly likes kids(once she gets to know them) and once she pics her small human best friend she will defend that child. If she thinks someone is a threat to her “kid” she will try to bite them. This is typical Dachsund behavior, Loyal family defenders.

She is good with other dogs but has to be the boss. She plays gently with puppies. She’s good with kids and people she knows. She’s not friendly with strangers. She gets very scared and shy. It doesn’t take her to long to warm up to people if you give her some space.

Lucy is mostly potty trained. She still has some accidents. Her living conditions were awful where she came from. Living most of her life in a 24” kennel full of feces. She needs a family that’s understanding of a dog that’s been mistreated and is willing to help her finish her recovery process.

She did great in the car and has been doing good so far with kennel training. She loves to be with you all the time but has had no issues with being kenneled while her foster goes to work. She is also known to be an expert escape artist and can climb fences. She does do well on a leash. So far shes been a fairly quiet dog since she got here.

Lucy does get active and playful when she’s comfortable with her family.

Overall she’s a sweet and loyal dog. Shes been through a lot so we will be very particular with choosing her new family. She deserves only the best ❤️
