Meet Striker!!

**Striker was at the dog event today. He met cats and even baby pigs and had no reaction.
Also sitting for, and gently taking treats from young kids.

The stunning boy came from absolutely awful conditions but he’s not phased at all by what he’s been through. He’s loving life and ready for a real family!!

Striker is a 2yr old, male, Dachsund mix, he weighs approx 15 pounds.

He is Dachsund through and through. He’s spunky, energetic, eager to do whatever you’re doing and oh so loving!!

Striker is overly friendly. He’s happy to see everyone and go anywhere with you. He is a really fun dog that would probably do anything you wanted him to. I could see him as a pint size buddy for an active person or family. Hiking, camping, boating, I think he would love it all!! He has the energy to keep up but can also relax with you.

He has not been a barker while here. He has done extremely well with potty training while watched or crated. No accidents in the crate so far. He does mark his territory still but he’s learning. He will also be neutered soon and we hope that helps stop the behavior. If you’re watching him he listens to corrections well regarding this. He was left out in a pen his entire life so this is all new to him.

Striker has been great with all the dogs he’s met. He’s also been great with kids. He has not yet met cats. He is very alert to small animals in the yard so cats may not work for him. If you have cats we could try having him meet them, I do not have cats here to test him with.

He does well on car rides and does well on a leash. He pulls a little at times but mostly he’s very easy to walk. He also knows how to sit and appears to be easily trainable. He has great focus.

Striker will be neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots as part of his adoption. He’s also current on Heartworm prevention and flea and tick prevention.

If you are looking for a handsome, larger than life dog in a small package then he is definitely your guy.

Striker had a really horrible start to life. I’ve included a few photos of his living conditions It’s amazing that his personality wasn’t dampened from it. He deserves a wonderful home that will appreciate how great he is.
